Join PSNH on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 for a presentation by Betsy Sholl that looks at the role and use of the first person in our poems. The first person “I” is at the heart of lyric poetry, giving voice to the lone soul or self in the midst of all the pressures of social machinery. But are there times when we can step away from the “I” and let just our “eye” do the work? For Betsy, using an “I” is almost automatic, and so she finds herself looking for ways to slip out of it. Read more about Besty and this presentation at psnh.org.
