Jimmy Pappas: Making the Private Public
|
This Tuesday it will be like when Saturday Night Live has the host and the musical guest be the same person. I will be both the moderator and the presenter at the same time. Here's hoping I can handle it as deftly as always. Join me for an evening of Cranberry Moments.
|
Here is the info: Join us on Tuesday, January 25, at 7:00 PM ET when Jimmy Pappas discusses writing poetry that makes the private public. We all have personal, private stories we are sometimes hesitant to share. When we do let the world know through our poetry, we share a common humanity. Other human beings recognize those stories in their own lives. As the author Dinty W. Moore said ". . . most individuals keep these parts so hidden that there is little chance to discover the commonality." Other moments can be so extraordinary that they find no commonality. It is up to the individual to decide what to open up to the world. Check Jimmy's Bits below. Hope to see you there. Jimmy

Jimmy's Bits
- Don't forget the Sunday Down Cellar Poets events. If you miss them, you are missing a free writing workshop with handouts. This is now for members only. Sunday at 1:00 PM ET on February 6, March 6, and April 3.
* Here is the complete quote by Dinty W. Moore: "That slight aspect of your personality or fantasy life, or hidden world, that you think so odd, so peculiar, so weird, that you've kept it a secret your entire life, is most likely far more common than you think. We are all made of similar stuff, we human beings. Even our most closely guarded insecurities are often commonly held, though most individuals keep these parts so hidden that there is little chance to discover the commonality."
