Poetry Out Loud Logo with and image of a microphone.Poetry Out Loud is a national poetry recitation program that encourages the nation’s youth to learn great poetry. Through depth of learning, memorization, and performance, the program helps students master public speaking skills, build self-confidence, and learn about their literary heritage. Poetry Out Loud builds on the spoken word as an art form.

New Hampshire high school students who excel at their love for memorizing and reciting poetry will come together for several semi-final competitions in February, hoping to head to the 2023 NH Poetry Out Loud championship. Three regional competitions will take place and these will be the first in-person semi-finals since 2020. NH state finals will take place on March 17.
