On Friday, July 19, designated by the Town of Wilmot as “Wesley McNair Day,” the Friends of the Wilmot Library will sponsor a reading by Wesley McNair to celebrate his achievement as a poet and honor his roots as a New Hampshire writer who began his career in the shadow of Mount Kearsarge. The event will take place at 7 PM in the First Congregational Church, on 14 North Wilmot Road. It will be preceded by a catered reception at 5:30 and conclude with a signing of McNair’s current volume of poetry, Late Wonders: New & Selected Poems, and his memoir, The Words I Chose, largely about his years in New Hampshire, his birthplace. The event is sponsored by the Friends of the Wilmot Public Library. It is free and open to the public, but seating is limited. Please register in advance by emailing wilmotlibrary11@gmail.com
