Poetry Nashua: Share poems and discuss poetry on the first Tuesday of each month in the activity room on the lower level of the Nashua Public Library. Poets of all levels and ages are welcome!
On Tuesday, November 7 poet Amanda Russell will be a featured reader. Amanda has recently moved out of the State of New Hampshire, so she will be joining via video conferencing.
Amanda’s reading will be followed by an Open Mic so please bring a poem or two.
Amanda (she/her/hers) is a guest editor for The Comstock Review and a stay-at-home mom. Her poems have appeared or are forthcoming in Hole In The Head re:View, EcoTheo Review, Lily Poetry Review, and Open: a Journal of Arts and Letters. If you would like to be the Featured Poet at a Poetry Nashua First Tuesday gathering or have a suggestion for a celebrity Guest Poet who is willing without pay to participate with Poetry Nashua, please provide the poet’s name and contact information. Bill Schreiber has offered to engage us with a writing prompt. Results may be shared with the group, if the writing participants are willing to do so.
If you are willing to lead a workshop, please contact Poetry Nashua at poetrynashua@gmail.com with the topic, length of workshop, etc. Poetry Nashua looks forward to the potential of a spring workshop regarding the poems of Jane Kenyon and the poet’s relationship with nature, as suggested by Jeeni Criscenzo.
Please bring your published materials to be available for sale after the poetry readings each month. You can display at the back table, talk with folks, and sell the published works for cash.
Please remember that the library allows covered beverages. The “utility room” assigned to the group also allows food. Please feel free to bring your covered beverage, and a snack to share.
