I hope you can join us this Tuesday, March 29, at 7:00 PM ET for PSNH Presents Poetry as an Instrument of Change. Poets Nancy Miller Gomez and Leigh Sugar have spent years teaching poetry in jails and prisons. They have seen first hand the way poetry can transform the lives of incarcerated women and men. Join us as they share poems and stories about their experiences. They will read poems and share insights into how one can craft poems of witness that serve as instruments of change. Leigh will also preview That’s a Pretty Thing to Call It: Prose and Poetry by Artists Teaching in Carceral Settings, an anthology forthcoming from New Village Press in 2023, as well as present a poem from currently incarcerated poet Justin Rovillos Monson.
We have also added Brian Daldorph who will be sharing a poem by Antonio Sanchez-Day.
