Summer happens and we apologize for the delay of our Annual Meeting which typically occurs at the end of July. We have also been very busy kickstarting the exciting process of choosing a new State Poet Laureate. This occurs every five years.
And now — the Poetry Society of New Hampshire is excited to announce that we will be dedicating our Annual Meeting on August 26 to all of you – our members! This will be an in-person & online meeting.
Members — please watch your email for details!
PSNH’s Quarterly/Annual Meetings Re-invented: Historically, we have used the first half of our meetings to review PSNH’s accomplishments in the last quarter as well as our continued vision for the future, but the board of directors has decided to re-invent our meetings going forward and use the time to focus on activities our members feel most passionate about – namely activities around poetry.
- Q & A – please indicate your questions or comments in the RSVP form via the link in your email.
- Workshop: Imagery in Poetry, with Ala Khaki – Ala Khaki is an Iranian-American poet, residing in Amherst, New Hampshire, with his beloved wife, the poet Melanie Chicoine. He is the author of four poetry collections, two in Farsi, “Sahar Khani” (Calling the Dawn) and “Az Inja Ta Tolou” (From Here to Sunrise), and two in English, Return (BookSurge Publishing) and
“Remembrances—A Poetic Memoir of Life as aPolitical Prisoner in Iran” (Bee Monk Press). - Open Mic – We invite you to read your poems and to share in one another’s accomplishments. This is also an opportunity to bring your books to sell or trade with fellow members. We encourage you to invite family and friends to come and support your work.
Light refreshments will be served so please be sure to RSVP via the link in your email. You can also post questions and comments via the same form.
We look forward to celebrating your work with you soon!
