January 2023 Member Spotlight

By popular request,  Poetry Society of New Hampshire features notable member news which includes appearances, awards, publications, readings, residencies, and more. Here is what members have recently shared:

C.I. Marshall’s first collection, The Locksmith Journeys Into The Afterlife, won the Frosted Fire First Pamphlet Award in 2022, and her book will be published in January. As winner of the award, C.I. will be invited to act as a judge for the 2023 competition, reading entries and considering them for a longlist of potential winners. PSNH board member Christopher Clauss was the featured poet at the Slam Free or Die poetry open mic at Stark Brewing Company (Manchester, NH) in December. It was also a celebration and release of his first full-length book, Photosynthesis & Respiration, available from Silver Bow Press or your favorite bookseller.

Dianalee Velie will be reading from her six books of poetry on January 17th, 5:30pm at the New London Inn. She will read  poems covering half a century of writing and publishing poetry. Details can be found at centerfortheartsnh.org/tapestry-tuesdays or see our event listing.

John Perrault’s chapbook, Season of Shagginess, was published in September 2022 by Finishing Line Press.  It was a December staff pick at Water Street Bookstore in Exeter, NH and is also available at RiverRun in Portsmouth, at Gibson’s Bookstore in Concord, and from the standard on-line sites.
