PSNH Member Spotlight – February 2023
By popular request, Poetry Society of New Hampshire features notable member news which includes appearances, awards, publications, readings, residencies, and more. Here is what members have recently shared:

Carla Schwartz was the featured poet at the January 27 City Nights Reading Series in Cambridge, MA. Visit Carla’s web site for more upcoming readings. Carla’s books include “Signs of Marriage” (2022), “Intimacy with the Wind” (2017) and “Mother, One More Thing” (2014).
Josh Nicolaisen recently reviewed collections by Maggie Smith and William Fargason in Colorado Review.
Gregory Reynolds’s memorial essay, “A Startling Soliloquy: In Memory of Larry Woiwode” recently appeared in Modern Reformation 31:6 (Dec. 2022): 48–51. He wrote about the death of novelist and poet Larry Woiwode who wrote for The New Yorker, and was poet laureate of North Dakota.
Gregory’s ekphrastic poem, “A Pilgrim’s View,” based on Jacob van Ruisdale’s (c. 1848) painting “View of Egmond aan Zee”, appeared in Modern Reformation 32:1 (Jan.-Feb. 2023): 46. Van Ruisdale’s original painting can be viewed at the Currier Gallery of Art in Manchester, NH. Gregory’s chapbook Yuletide: Poems and Artwork is available on Amazon It contains 17 illustrations in linoleum block and pen and ink with 20 Christmas poems.
Laurie Zimmerman will be reading poems inspired by her recent move from L.A. to Tucker Mountain in Andover. She will be accompanied by three local Andover poets, on February 15, 7 p.m., at The Andover Community Hub, in Andover, NH.
